INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

African Impact is an educational travel company that has been offering developmental programmes, including service-learning programmes, volunteering, internships and expeditions across Africa for over 15 years.

Our projects, which are run full-time, throughout the year, are developed alongside local communities to ensure the work we do is ethical, responsible, and relevant to the needs of these communities.
 
Our teams live and work alongside these communities, which allows us to offer sustainable and transformative experiences that provide real value where it is most needed.
 
The Global Awareness programme allows students to develop and implement ideas to support our project aims. Students develop life skills such as problem solving, collaboration and resilience.
 
Our programme is accredited by ASDAN, which supports students’ university applications.

HOW YOUR CHILD BENEFITS

Our goal is to offer young people positive, authentic, fun and life enhancing experiences, which develop life-long learning skills. We have seen first-hand, how experiential and immersive travel experiences can achieve this.

We hope that being in Africa will be challenging, exciting, humbling and educational. The skills they will learn will support University applications, employability, and CV’s.

WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL DO

During the programme students will be given a specific community to work with and will then travel to Africa, to visit the same project to continue their impact on an experiential and culturally immersive experience. 
 
On returning home students will present their learnings.
In Africa groups will stay at our permanent bases and will work with our staff and local communities on programmes, such as gender equality and environmental sustainability.

KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE

Safety of our students, groups and staff is our first priority on all our trips. We have robust safety management systems in place. Our African team live and work year-round in the destination, giving them the first-hand knowledge and experience to guide and support the team through their trip. Every team is accompanied by an experienced tour leader who is with the group 24/7
